MBA PROGRAMME

The world of business is more interconnected than ever before, and employers are increasingly looking for candidates with a global perspective and diverse skills. Considering the current demands of the market we strive to give impetus to the career of the students. The two-year, full time MBA programme has been designed to meet out the challenges of management and is approved by AICTE, Ministry of Education, Govt. of India and affiliated to Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow. The Institute with its over four decades of excellence in management education, effectively transforms the students into professionally competent and socially sensitive management graduates. The young graduates are fully equipped to take on the global challenges of the corporate world. The programme explores all the areas of contemporary management, in conjunction with a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the key functions of management and business.

BASIC PHILOSOPHY

The MBA Programme is designed to develop professional managers who can shoulder varied responsibilities in organizations in different sectors of our economy. They must be comfortable and confident while making decisions under the circumstances of risk and uncertainty and must be willing to manage risk, deal with complex situations and harmonize individual and group efforts.

PROGRAMME PEDAGOGY

The emphasis is on self-learning and to promote an inquisitive and analytical mind. The role of the Institute is to stimulate the students through a balance of pedagogic approaches. The programme is designed in an integrated manner, emphasising synthesis, symbiosis and synergy among its components. The internalisation of knowledge rather than its mere acquisition, is emphasised. Balanced importance is given to classroom teaching, non-classroom learning and internship for the development of the right attitude, skills and knowledge. Classroom teaching is consolidated by combining lectures with case studies, business games and group discussion. Non-class room curriculum consists of assignments and projects which provide opportunities to the students to apply their knowledge to the work situation within the Institute and outside. A combination of appropriate instructional methodologies are employed in the course. The basket of teaching methods employed includes lectures, case discussions, exercises, seminars, role plays, management games, assignments, term papers, project work, audio-visual aids and computer based learning methods. The students are required to make presentation of their term papers and reports. The students are also expected to contribute, wherever possible, towards research and consultancy assignments undertaken by the Institute. In order to supplement the knowledge with practical inputs, visits to various organisations and industrial units are also arranged.
